Fleet and network expansion
In a parallel update to its growth strategy, SpiceJet has signed a lease agreement to induct a wide-body Airbus A340 into its fleet. The aircraft is expected to arrive in India by the end of September and begin operations in the first week of October, subject to regulatory approvals. The A340 will initially operate on a wet lease and later transition to a damp lease, a move aimed at increasing operational flexibility and optimizing costs as the airline boosts international connectivity.
