Labdanation Sets Guinness World Record for Sustainable Fashion
Indonesia has reached a milestone in sustainable fashion after Labdanation Fashion Week Season III earned a Guinness World Records title for “The Most Sustainability-Certified Textile Clothing in a Fashion Show.”
Held at Sira Village Grand Outlet Bali, the event presented 67 garments made from sustainability-certified textiles. Guinness World Records adjudicator Justin Patterson officially verified the achievement after assessing the fashion show against the category’s established criteria.
Sira Village president director Tantowi Yahya said the event provided a platform for Indonesian creativity, particularly small and medium-sized industries and micro, small and medium enterprises, to introduce their products to broader markets.
He emphasized that retail destinations can contribute to business and community development by creating opportunities for companies, creative groups and industry participants to connect and grow.
As part of the Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zone, Sira Village also promotes sustainability and responsible development intended to generate long-term value for businesses, surrounding communities and the environment.
The record reflects the growing momentum of Indonesia’s sustainable fashion sector and demonstrates the potential of local businesses to meet international sustainability standards. It also supports Sira Village’s ambition to become a center for creativity, collaboration and industry engagement.
Organized by PT Labda Anugerah Tekstil under the theme “Threads of Legacy,” Labdanation Fashion Week Season III brought together textile companies, designers, local fashion labels, educational institutions and industry professionals. The program highlighted how collaboration across the fashion value chain can encourage more sustainable practices.
The runway featured collections from five Indonesian fashion brands and institutions: Murrato Bali, Kimmyra, Institut Desain dan Bisnis Bali, Unice and Novel Mice. Their garments showcased local creative talent while placing sustainability at the center of design and production.
Beyond the runway presentation and record-setting achievement, the event included an industry discussion about the future of Indonesia’s textile sector and its readiness to compete internationally.
The session, themed “The Development of the National Textile Industry Towards an Ethical and Integrity-Driven Global Market in Creating International-Standard Business Players,” brought together representatives from government institutions, textile associations, certification organizations, manufacturing companies and other industry specialists.
Through initiatives such as Labdanation Fashion Week, organizers aim to help Indonesian brands showcase their products, connect with industry stakeholders and explore new opportunities in domestic and global markets.
