Qatar Investment and Innovation Conference set for Nov 3 at Barahat Msheireb
Doha: Msheireb Properties, in collaboration with The Business Year, has announced the return of the Qatar Investment and Innovation Conference. Scheduled for November 3 at Barahat Msheireb, this year’s theme is “Driving GCC Entrepreneurial Growth”.
Following the success of its inaugural edition held in January, the second edition aims to advance the Gulf region’s startup landscape and boost regional collaboration. The event will gather senior government officials, investors, and business leaders from Qatar and the GCC region, emphasizing youth involvement and emerging enterprises set to shape the forthcoming phase of growth.
Dr. Hafiz Ali Abdulla, Senior Director of Corporate Communication at Msheireb Properties, stated, “After the success of January’s edition, we are thrilled to welcome the event back to Msheireb Downtown Doha. As the district solidifies itself as a center for dialogue and a hub for business, culture, design, and technology, it is an ideal location for regional stakeholders to exchange ideas and foster future opportunities.”
He further added, “The Qatar Investment and Innovation Conference has served as a platform for investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to accelerate the GCC’s economic diversification objectives. The upcoming edition in November offers another chance to deepen these discussions and broaden regional cooperation.”
Vanessa Rameix, Regional Director at The Business Year, noted, “While the world observes the GCC’s economic transition, real change occurs when boardrooms meet government offices. This is where Qatar’s startup revolution gets its roadmap – not from oil barrels, but from partnerships forged at events like this.”
This year’s conference adopts an entrepreneur-driven format designed to invigorate the region’s emerging community. It will illuminate how the GCC’s burgeoning startup ecosystem can serve as a viable alternative to established global markets, leveraging each member country’s unique strengths.
The event will also feature a live startup pitch competition, presenting emerging companies from across the GCC alongside main panel discussions with industry leaders and policymakers.
The first panel, titled “Fostering Entrepreneurship and Driving Economic Growth in the GCC,” will concentrate on how public and private sector initiatives can enhance entrepreneurial activities across the GCC, with special focus on public policies and incentives supporting emerging businesses.
Following this, the second panel, “Financing the Future: GCC Investment Strategies and Policy Insights,” will delve into funding mechanisms across the region, including venture capital, regulatory frameworks, and government-backed initiatives aimed at expanding financial access and improving market conditions.
