The fair will also pay tribute to the late sommelier Victoria Ibáñez, honoring her contribution to Catalan hospitality and wine service.
No & Low Alcohol Day
For the first time, BWW introduces a dedicated No & Low Alcohol Day, reflecting one of the fastest-growing categories in drinks. The program will include technical tastings, blind sessions, and panels that tackle production challenges, shifting consumer expectations, and market opportunities.
Signature tastings and deep dives
- “12+1 Myths about Sherry,” an exploration of history and misconception through the lens of one of Spain’s most singular wines.
- “Tradition and Innovation: From the Past to the Present,” guided by Jancis Robinson MW, connecting centuries-old practices with modern thinking in Spanish winemaking.
Sustainability and innovation at the core
The event will weave sustainability through multiple threads: from low- and no-alcohol innovation to sessions on AI-supported efficiency, resource optimization, and the stewardship values that family-run estates have long embodied. Expect practical insights into how technology and tradition can jointly serve environmental and economic resilience.
Built for business
BWW is designed first and foremost for trade. The 2026 edition will feature around 13,500 pre-scheduled B2B meetings and a robust Key Buyers Programme. More than 800 international buyers are expected from priority markets in Europe, the US, UK, Canada, China, Southeast Asia, and Mercosur, alongside 1,000 national buyers spanning retail, distribution, and hospitality.
Exhibition space will once again fill Halls 1 and 8. With the vast majority of 2024 exhibitors already confirmed, visitors can expect a strong Spanish showcase with well-known names such as González Byass, Codorníu, Vallformosa, Marqués del Atrio, Freixenet, Juvé & Camps, Grupo Osborne, Grandes Pagos de España, Araex, Parés Baltà, Otazu, Barbadillo, and El Escocés Volante.
The city joins the celebration
Under the “BWW Likes the City” umbrella, Barcelona will come alive with satellite tastings, themed menus, and wine-focused experiences across restaurants, hotels, bars, and cultural venues—making the fair a citywide celebration of Spanish wine culture by day and night.
Momentum from the 2025 edition
The 2025 fair marked a milestone fifth edition, with records set in both winery participation and exhibition space. A total of 1,266 wineries from 81 DOs took part, drawing about 25,700 professionals—20% of them international—and generating an estimated €17 million in economic impact for Barcelona. The show brought together a mix of producers, buyers, sommeliers, and educators, reinforcing BWW’s role as a meeting point for the entire value chain of Spanish quality wine.
