Expanding Access, Building Impact: Inside SeedFi’s Growth Journey

The conversation around financial inclusion is evolving from short-term access to credit toward long-term participation in the formal economy. Across Africa, people and businesses need more than loans—they need tools to build financial identities, grow sustainable livelihoods, and confidently engage with financial services over time.

This shift has guided SeedFi’s growth strategy. Over the past year, the company has focused on creating practical pathways into the financial system for individuals and small businesses, combining alternative financing with data-driven tools that help customers establish credibility and unlock wider opportunities.

Impact at a Glance

  • Since launching in 2023, SeedFi has served more than 100,000 customers.
  • ₦22 billion has been disbursed across multiple lending channels.
  • Through SeedScore, over 900,000 people now have credit markers to help build recognisable financial profiles.

From Credit Access to Financial Participation

SeedFi’s approach goes beyond disbursing funds. With SeedScore—its alternative credit scoring platform—the company provides credit markers that help individuals prove reliability, access better terms, and participate more fully in the broader financial ecosystem. This foundation supports smarter lending decisions while empowering customers who may not have traditional banking histories.

According to SeedFi’s leadership, the focus is on building systems that make access to finance simpler, fairer, and highly scalable—reflecting the needs of customers and the trust they continue to place in the platform. This philosophy has shaped products designed to support entrepreneurship, strengthen livelihoods, and drive inclusive growth across sectors.

Targeted Programs Powering Real-World Outcomes

To deepen impact, SeedFi has built and expanded programs in partnership with aligned organisations, ensuring financing meets the realities of everyday life and work.

Backing Women Entrepreneurs

Following an International Women’s Day initiative in 2025 that offered funding and visibility to women-led ventures, SeedFi extended its commitment in 2026 by providing ₦1 million in non-interest loans to multiple female entrepreneurs in partnership with Herconomy. These efforts help bridge the capital gap for women-owned businesses and support sustainable growth.

Fueling the Last Mile

In the logistics sector, more than 1,082 last-mile delivery riders have accessed working capital tailored to their day-to-day needs. This financing helps riders maintain operations, improve productivity, and build financial stability—an essential backbone for e-commerce and urban services.

Strengthening Agricultural Livelihoods

Through a partnership with Winich Farms, SeedFi has extended flexible financing to produce-backed farmers across Nigeria. The goal: improve productivity, increase access to inputs, and boost long-term resilience within farming communities that are often underserved by traditional finance.

Innovating for Inclusion and the Environment

A pilot with WasteBanc explores a new frontier in inclusive finance—enabling users to access credit and make repayments using recyclable plastic waste. This model simultaneously opens economic opportunities and promotes environmental responsibility.

Meeting Customers Where They Are

SeedFi’s growth strategy is built around customer journeys. Whether someone is taking their first step into credit, building a financial identity, growing a business, or creating opportunities in their community, the company aims to provide solutions that are accessible, transparent, and inclusive.

Cross-Border Expansion: Introducing Kouriar

Building on its mission to broaden financial access, SeedFi recently launched Kouriar, a cross-border remittance platform. With Canada as its initial operating market, Kouriar enables Africans living in Canada to send money quickly and securely. The launch lays the groundwork for a broader global expansion strategy and complements SeedFi’s lending and credit-scoring capabilities.

What’s Next

By combining lending products, alternative credit scoring, and international payments, SeedFi is creating a more connected financial pathway for individuals and small businesses. The company’s strategy underscores a simple idea: inclusion is not just about access—it’s about participation, progress, and long-term resilience.

As SeedFi scales its products and partnerships, its focus remains constant: empower more people to build credit histories, grow stable livelihoods, and thrive within the formal financial system—regardless of profession, location, or income level.
