Serbian Government Says There Is Enough of All Petroleum Products

Serbia has an adequate supply of all petroleum products, the government announced after an emergency meeting convened to review the country’s energy situation and safeguard market stability.

Emergency Meeting Focused on Supply Stability

According to the government’s press service, ministers assessed the current state of the energy sector and discussed measures to ensure uninterrupted availability of fuels. Authorities emphasized that maintaining stable supplies for citizens and the economy remains a top priority, with contingency plans prepared to address potential disruptions.

President Meets Energy Stability Team

President Aleksandar Vucic met with the team responsible for energy stability and security, stating that all ongoing challenges were examined and key conclusions reached to protect national interests and guarantee reliable supplies. The meeting underscored coordinated efforts across institutions to keep the market well supplied and resilient.

Ministers: Supplies Secure, Contingencies in Place

Following the meeting, Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic said a response from the United States concerning the operations of the Serbian oil company NIS is expected early in the week. She urged the public not to worry, noting that there will be sufficient quantities of all petroleum products and that the government has developed multiple scenarios to ensure consistent fuel delivery to the market.

Foreign Minister Marko Djuric, a member of the energy stability team, reiterated that energy supplies are guaranteed, while confirming that negotiations related to NIS are ongoing. He said Serbia is well-prepared, is acting transparently, and will continue to inform the public about any developments, including potential new agreements. He described the talks as taking place at a sensitive geopolitical moment.

Djuric added that Serbia’s interest is for NIS to continue operating. He also commented that the goal of the United States is to separate Europe from Russia in the energy sphere, framing the ongoing discussions within a broader geopolitical context.

Ongoing Coordination and Public Updates

Officials emphasized continuous inter-agency coordination to maintain supply stability and promised timely updates as talks progress. The government’s message remains that Serbia is prepared for multiple scenarios and that fuel supplies for households and businesses are secure.
